A little more about Marushka

With over 25 years in private practice, Marushka Glissen, LICSW, guides individuals and couples/diads, through deep emotional healing and transformation. Her work is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients connect with and understand the many parts of themselves with clarity and compassion.
Marushka has co-led experiential couples workshops at the Esalen Institute and in Boston with Daniel P. Brown and trained and assisted Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS Therapy.
Blending IFS with hypnotherapy and a long-standing meditation practice, she supports clients in releasing anxiety, healing trauma, and navigating life’s transitions. Her work also explores the impact of generational trauma, helping clients gently uncover and release inherited patterns.
Her presence is warm, steady, and deeply attuned, creating a space where real healing can take root.

What people are saying...
Marushka's wisdom and experience is such a gift. When I sit with her, she brings decades of Internal Family Systems expertise, 30 years of working with with, and teaching couples workshops. She has a deep reverence for compassionate listening. She has served in many Bearing Witness Retreats, she has led, and participated in Council Practices with the Zen Peacemakers over the years. She has lived experiences as a second generation survivor of the holocaust. Not to mention the connections and cases, and wisdom from her 45 year psychotherapy private practice. I always leave our time with more wisdom, joy and lightheartedness. I love learning from and being in circle with Marushka.

There are no words to describe how much my life has changed for the better since meeting Marushka. She has been my therapist for 37 years. She is extremely talented at what she does. Her extensive IFS training is invaluable. Marushka doesn't just do the IFS work, she also teaches how to do the work on one's own. I've learned to be my own IFS therapist. The reason I continue with Marushka after all these years is that I continue to grow. She has boundaries, yet is willing to be human and doesn't sit on the "Holy Therapist" box. She is the most compassionate, perceptive person I know. I highly recommend Marushka to anyone who wants to grow and change, and is willing to do the work to get there!
